One of the best ways to find new friends to add on Facebook is to check out who may already be friends with people you know. When you view the confirmed friends of say, an old high school classmate, the odds are you will find at least a few individuals with whom you would also want to connect on Facebook. Even if you are not friends with someone on the site, you may still see that person's friends if his privacy settings allow it.

  1. 1

Click "Profile" on the menu bar on the top right of any page while you are logged in to your Facebook account.

  2. 2

Click "Friends" and click the name of one of your friends. If the person whose friends you want to see is not a confirmed friend of yours, click her name wherever you find it, such as in a comment or wall post. You will be taken to that person's Facebook profile.

  3. 3

Look for "Friends" on the left below the person's profile photo and click it. A list of that person's friends will be displayed on the middle of the page. Each person's name appears with a thumbnail of his photo.

  4. 4

Click a name or photo to be taken to that person's Facebook profile.

Tips and warnings

  • If you do not see a "Friends" link on somebody's Facebook profile, that person may have chosen to hide friends from view.
