The Netgear WNDR3700 is a wireless router capable of using both 2.4-gigahertz and 5-gigahertz wireless frequencies. Disabling the 5-GHz antenna disables your wireless network, disconnecting any users accessing the Internet or other computers on the network. The buttons on the front of the router make disabling 5 GHz simple. The router also disables 2.4-GHz frequencies when you turn off the 5-GHz antenna.
