Jamaican beef patties are more similar to handheld meat pies or small calzones than they are to hamburger patties, but like hamburger patties, these freeze well and do not need to be thawed before heating. Recipes for Jamaican beef patties abound on the Internet, but they all include a pastry crust around a meaty filling.
