If you are experimenting with different styles of cursive fonts in your word processing program --- or if you are designing an invitation or greeting card using different cursive fonts --- you need not access your font toolbar each time you want to change a font. Instead, employ keyboard shortcuts that allow you to copy and paste the fonts quickly. The shortcut keys for Windows and Macintosh machines are very similar.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open a new Microsoft Word document on your Windows or Macintosh computer.

  2. 2

Type three lines of text. Highlight the first line. Click the font drop-down box. Select your first cursive font. Highlight the second line. Click the font drop-down box and select your second cursive font. Highlight the third line. Click the font drop-down box and select your third cursive font.

  3. 3

Highlight the first line of text again. On a Windows machine, press "Control" and "C" to copy. On a Mac, press the "Command" key and "C." Scroll down to a different part of the document. Press "Control" and "V" to paste on a Windows machine. Press "Command" and "V" to paste on a Macintosh machine. Repeat this step, mixing up the other fonts in the document.
