How to Click on Links in Foxit Reader

Updated March 23, 2017

A PDF document can contain links to websites within its text. Clicking on one of these links launches the referenced website in your Web browser. To protect your system from potentially malicious websites, the default settings for Foxit PDF Reader do not allow you to click on links and open them. If you trust the links contained within a PDF document, allow Foxit to open links by changing a setting in the program's "Trust Manager" section.

Launch Foxit Reader. Press "Ctrl" and "O" simultaneously. Double-click a PDF file containing links.

Click "Tools" in the top menu bar. Click "Preferences."

Click "Trust Manager" in the left-hand column. Uncheck the box next to "Enable Safe Reading Mode." Click "OK."

Click on the link in the PDF document. Click "Yes" to open the website in your default Internet browser.
