How to tag an album on Facebook

Updated March 23, 2017

Facebook tags let your friends on the social networking site know when their images are present in your photos. Tag a friend, and she is notified that you identified her in one of your pictures. A copy of the photo then shows up on her profile as well as yours. When it comes to friends who appear in multiple photos in the same album, tag the images in album view to save yourself time.

Point your browser to the album by clicking on the "Photos" link on the left side of the Facebook home page. Alternatively, click on the "Photos" link just under your picture on your profile. Click once on the name or image representing the album.

Click the "Tag Photos" link in the top right corner of the screen.

Enter a friend's name in the blank text field above the album. As you type a friend's name, Facebook will suggest possible matches. Select a friend by clicking once on his name. Click on one or more photos in which he appears; when you click on the photo, he is automatically tagged. Click "Save Tags."

Repeat the process for each friend you want to tag in the album.
