One of the Foobar media player's greatest strengths is its high level of possible customisation. The basic program is functional but bare bones; to enable additional features, you must install additional components and skins. This allows you to install only the functions that you need, while avoiding unwanted features that consume system resources. To burn a CD in Foobar, you need to install the Audio CD Writer component, which enables CD burning in the Foobar pop-up context menu.

Navigate to the Audio CD Writer download page on the Foobar2000 website (See Resources). Click the "Download" link. Save the Audio CD Writer ZIP file to "C:\Program Files\foobar2000."

Open "My Computer" and navigate to the Foobar2000 directory. Right-click the downloaded ZIP file and choose "Extract All." Windows extracts the Audio CD Writer plugin to the Foobar folder.

Double-click the Foobar2000 icon on the desktop to open the program. Click "File," then "Preferences." Click "Components" in the left pane, then click the "Install" button at the bottom of the window.

Navigate to the Foobar2000 directory in the browser window that opens. Double-click the Audio CD Writer plugin, which is called "foo_burninate." Click "Apply," then "OK" to install the plugin and restart Foobar.

Navigate to the album you want to burn to CD. Right-click the album name and select "Convert." Choose "Write audio CD" in the sub-menu that opens.

Insert a blank CD into the computer's disc drive. If you have more than one burner installed, select the correct drive from the "Device" drop-down menu. Click "OK" to burn the CD.
