How to Reset an HP C5180 Printer

Updated February 21, 2017

If you own a Hewlett Packard C5180 printer, you should be able to resolve most problems rather quickly. Paying attention to the error lights on the printer and addressing problems with ink replacement and paper jams is generally enough to keep this printer up and running. Sometimes, however, you need to reset the computer and clear its memory to get rid of a persistent error message or other problem.

Pull the power cord from the back of the HP C5180 printer. Do not turn the printer off before removing the power cord.

Hold down the "OK" and the "Help" keys at the same time. Plug the power cord back into the C5180 printer.

Wait for the screen to go blank. The printer is now reset.
