How to Reset My Windows Live Password If I Forgot It

With all the websites and programs that require passwords for security purposes, remembering each password can be a challenge. When using Windows Live services, you are required to have a Windows Live ID and password. If you forget your password, reset it using the Windows Live account page and your Live ID.

Open your Web browser. Navigate to the Windows Live account home page (see Resources).

Click "Forgot your password?" under the login boxes.

Type your Windows Live ID into the box.

Type the letters and numbers displayed in the picture box.

Click "Next."

Click "Email me a reset link."

Open your e-mail client. Open the reset e-mail sent to your account. Click the reset link.

Type a new password to change your Windows Live password.
