If you have an Apple computer, iPhoto is a useful built-in application that you can use to edit and distribute photographs. This program even allows you to create different types of photo products, including photo books. Rather than keeping all your photos online, you can create personalised albums to share with family and friends. When it comes to printing photo books, iPhoto gives you the option to do it yourself or have Apple create a high-quality photo book for you.

    Printing Your Own Book

  1. 1

Create a new photo book or open an existing photo book. Open a book you've previously made by clicking "Projects" in the iPhoto toolbar and selecting the book from the bookshelf.

  2. 2

Click "File" in the menu bar and choose "Print." The print options menu will pop up. In the options choose your printer and specify how many copies of the book you'd like to print.

  3. 3

Click the "Preview" button in the print options to view a preview of your printed book. If you'd like to make changes, close the print menu and make the needed changes. Once you've adjusted the book to your liking, click "File" and "Print" once again.

  4. 4

Click the "Print" button in the print options. The pages of the book will print out of your home printer.

    Buying an Apple Photo Book

  1. 1

Open your photo book by clicking "Projects" in the toolbar and selecting your photo book from the bookshelf. This opens your chosen photo book in iPhoto. Go through each page and make any changes you need to.

  2. 2

Click the "Buy Book" button at the bottom of the page. Choose the type of book you'd like to purchase. As of April 2011, hardcover photo books are £19 for the first 20 pages for a large book and £32 for the first 20 pages of an extra large book. Additional extra large pages are 90p, and additional large pages are 60p. If you'd rather have a softcover book, those range between £13 for a large book and £2 for a small book.

  3. 3

Fill in your credit card and shipping information. Once you've placed your order, simply wait for Apple to print the book and ship it to your home.
