How to Reset the Buffalo AirStation WLI-TX4-G54HP

Updated February 21, 2017

The Buffalo AirStation WLI-TX4-G54HP is a high-performance wireless adaptor used for wirelessly connecting video games consoles, laptops, printers or other electronic devices with networking capability and an Ethernet port. There are two reset options available for your Buffalo AirStation: a complete return to factory settings or a basic restart of the router. Restoring factory settings removes any changes you may have made to the router, which is useful if you are selling the unit. A basic restart is useful if the router stops behaving as you expect.

Open a new Web browser window and enter "" into the address bar without quotation marks. Hit "Enter."

Type "Root" as the user name and leave the password field blank when the login prompt appears. The user name and password are different if you changed your router set-up since installation. Press "OK."

The "Buffalo Web Based Configuration" screen appears. Click the blue "Advanced" button at the bottom of the screen.

Click the "Management" on the left side of the screen. Two options appear.

Click "Reset" to restart the router without losing settings. Click "Initialize" to restore the router to factory settings. The Buffalo AirStation WLI-TX4-G54HP performs the chosen operation and restarts.

Holding the "INT" button on the right side of the router for five seconds or until the red "DIAG" light glows restores the router to factory settings without using the Buffalo Web Based Configuration menu. The entire initialisation process takes about a minute.
