The family tree feature on Facebook allows you to highlight your relationships with those closest to you. Family members appear on the left side of your page, just under the list of your other contacts, and are labelled by their relationship to you, such as brother or cousin. If the time comes when you want to sever your family-tree relationship with another person, removing the connection on your page is quite easy. Deleting someone from your family tree will not remove him from your friend list.
