  1. 1

Lay a cotton handkerchief out flat onto a table top. You can use a plain white handkerchief or you can use a fancy handkerchief that is patterned or has designs on it's surface.

  2. 2

Pour 1/4 cup of buckwheat hulls into the centre of the handkerchief.

  3. 3

Pour 1/4 cup of lavender buds over the buckwheat hulls.

  4. 4

Drop 3 to 4 drops of pure lavender essential oil over the hulls and buds. If you use essential oil instead of fragrance oil, the aroma will be more natural and strong.

  5. 5

Pull the edges and corners of the handkerchief up to create a bag.

  6. 6

Cut a piece of ribbon to measure 8 inches long and tie the ribbon around the handkerchief to securely close it.

  7. 7

Place the bag freshener into your drawers to keep your clothing smelling fresh and clean.
