The Dyson Animal is a canister vacuum cleaner. Specifically made to pick up animal hair, the Dyson Animal manoeuvres on a ball for greater ease of use. With a detachable head and telescoping wand, the Dyson Animal is a high-performance vacuum. However, if your Dyson Animal is not functioning properly, performing some troubleshooting steps may remedy your problem.

Moderately Easy

    Loss of Suction

  1. 1

Unplug the vacuum from the wall.

  2. 2

Press the release button located on the bottom right side of the machine to release the filter housing.

  3. 3

Depress the button on the side of the filter housing to release the filter.

  4. 4

Remove the dirt canister from the machine and empty into a dustbin.

  5. 5

Open the filter housing, located where the canister sits on the vacuum, and remove the filter.

  6. 6

Wash both filters with cold water until the water runs clear.

  2. 2

Examine the brush to ensure that no large items are keeping the brush from turning.
