How to Remove the Light Covers from an Audi TT

Updated April 17, 2017

The TT is a two-door sports car produced by German auto manufacturer, Audi. Like many vehicles, the TT has interior lights that switch on when you open the door that illuminate the vehicle interior at night. If the interior light stops working, you can replace the bulb located beneath the clear plastic light cover on the top of the vehicle. Replacing the interior light bulb requires that you first remove the light cover, which may seem difficult unless you know how.

Park the Audi TT and switch off the engine. Sit in the vehicle with both doors closed.

Insert the tip of a flathead screwdriver in the front portion of the interior light cover, between the clear plastic cover and the solid plastic lip around it.

Pry downward until the light cover comes loose. Pull the light cover down and forward to remove it. Replace the bulb with a bulb designed to fit your Audi TT.

Reinstall the light cover by inserting the tab on the back of the cover into the groove on the back side of the light fixture. Press upward on the front of the light cover until it audibly snaps into place.

Open the door and verify that the new light bulb works.

Alternatively, use the edge of a credit card to pry the light cover off.
