The HP LaserJet M2727 NF is a heavy-duty multi-function printer designed for office or business environments. With the LaserJet M2727, you can print, copy, fax and scan documents. While it is impossible to disable only the flatbed scanner on this LaserJet printer as it is integrated into the machine, you can, however, disable the error messages that may arise from the scanner. There are certain troubleshooting techniques you should try to get rid of the scanner error messages.

Skill level:
Moderately Challenging

  1. 1

Fix the error message "Scanning Error Cannot Connect." Unplug the USB cable that is used to connect the multi-function laser printer. Wait for a few seconds, and then reconnect the printer. Make sure the connection cable is not loose or damaged. Replace the cable if needed; you can purchase a new cable from any electronic store.

  2. 2

Fix the error message "Scanner 5 Error." Conduct a power cycle of the LaserJet printer. To do this, simply unplug the printer from its power source, wait for a few seconds and replug. Turn on the power button to re-initialise the printer.

  3. 3

Fix the error message "Scanner 8 error." Conduct a power cycle by unplugging the printer, waiting a few seconds, and plugging it back in.

  4. 4

Fix the error message "52 Scanner Error." Turn off the power switch on your printer. Wait at least 30 seconds. Turn the printer back on. Let the multi-function printer initialise. If you use a surge protector, remove it. Plug the printer directly into the power source.
