The Hewlett-Packard, or HP, Integrated Light-Out, or iLO, is a standard component for HP ProLiant servers, and with the feature you can remotely manage server activity. For example, with the iLO enabled on your computer, you can use a Web browser to activate the iLO component and then you perform specific tasks, such as powering down a server from a remote location. To install the iLO, you must configure the iLO settings and enable the iLO advanced functionality.

Restart you computer, and then press the "F8" on your keyboard before the login screen appears. The iLO configuration utility will then run.
Enter in a value user name and password for the "Configure iLO Settings" field and then press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. Write down the iLO IP address.
Select the "Exit" option, and then your operating system will start up on your computer. Open a Web browser application, and enter the iLO IP address into the "Address Bar" of the Web browser.
Enter your user name and password, and then click the "Administration" tab. Click the "Licensing" option from the left navigation pane.
Enter the activation key that came with your HP software into the appropriate fields. Click the "Apply" button. The iLO will then be completely installed on your computer.
