How to Repair Dolce & Gabbana Glasses

Updated April 17, 2017

It's a pain and a bother when glasses break, but when the glasses are a designer brand like Dolce & Gabbana, the blow can seem greater. Their higher price makes them more expensive to replace; because the Dolce & Gabbana brand is distinctive, their parts are harder to replace. But that doesn't mean all hope is lost. If an accident befalls your Dolce & Gabbana glasses, you may be able to make small repairs yourself, or order special Dolce & Gabanna replacement parts to fix them.

Tighten the screws holding the glasses together, if needed, using a small screwdriver with a head small enough to fit the screws on the Dolce & Gabbana eyeglasses frames. This kind of fix is often all that's needed when frames need repairing, as the screws holding the frames together tend to work themselves loose over time. Tighten the screws at the temples and the screws holding the lenses in place.

Apply superglue -- or another strong adhesive -- to the bridge or temple pieces of the glasses if they break or snap off. This will only work as a temporary fix until you can locate a professional eyeglasses repairer or order a replacement part for your Dolce & Gabbana frames. Keep the adhesive away from the lenses.

Smooth any scratches in the frames of the glasses with a nail file. This works best if the frames are plastic and if the dye on the frames goes all the way through the plastic, so the colour won't be worn off. Apply jewellery polish to smooth over scratches in metal frames.

Apply wax polish to minimise any superficial scratches in the lenses. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to dab a little bit of wax over the surface of the scratch. Buff the lens gently with the cloth for about ten seconds, then clean the lens and wipe dry. Deep scratches cannot be fixed this way; if your Dolce & Gabanna lenses receive a deep scratch, you will need to contact eyecare professionals for replacement prescription lenses to fit your frames.

Contact eyecare professionals for any other damage to your Dolce & Gabanna glasses that you cannot repair or adjust yourself. Serious damage may require a professional's attention, or the ordering of replacement parts. Locate eyecare professionals, repair experts or retailers who sell Dolce & Gabanna frames and place an order for replacement parts.
