Having an air conditioning and heating unit in your home or apartment can be nice during the summer and winter months, but without the proper thermostat installed you will not be able to control it. The Horstmann HRFS1 thermostat is a digital programmable room thermostat that you can use to accurately set the ideal temperature in your home. Using the controls on the device, you can ensure a comfortable temperature indoors all year long.

Instructions

  1. 1

Press the "Up" or "Down" arrows on the face of the thermostat to adjust the temperature you want the inside of your home to be. When the screen reads the temperature you want, leave the controls alone and the thermostat will turn on the appropriate heating or cooling system to get the temperature to that mark.

  2. 2

Press the "Set" button to enter programming mode on the thermostat. You will see the first programmed change in settings for weekdays. Press the "Up" and "Down" arrows to switch between weekday and weekend settings. When the set of days you want to change is flashing, press the "Select" button to choose it.

  3. 3

Press the "Up" and "Down" arrows to adjust the time you want your program to begin. When the correct hour is on the display, press the "Select" button again to save this setting and move to the minutes setting. Adjust the minutes in the same way and press "Select" to move to the temperature selection. Adjust the temperature with the arrow buttons and press the "Select" button once more.

  4. 4

Press the "Set" button to exit programming and save your changes. If you wish to set up a new program, you can save up to five programs using the same method you used in Step 3. The second program will automatically appear if you press "Select" after choosing the temperature for program one. When you are finished programming, press the "Set" button twice to save the changes and return to normal operation.
