Social networking websites such as Facebook can be an effective way of promoting a website or business. Facebook allows you to create a group for people who support your organisation, and people can become members of the group by clicking a "Like" button on your website. This causes a link to your group to appear on their profile. When their friends see the link, they might be encouraged to learn more about your organisation. Create a Facebook group badge and add it to your website to give visitors an opportunity to "Like" it and show their support on Facebook.
Navigate to the Facebook Badges page using the Resource link, and click the "Page Badge" link in the lower right corner of the page. Note that if you have not created a Facebook group for your organisation yet, you will receive an error message upon clicking this link. In addition, you must be logged in to your Facebook account.
Click the "Edit This Badge" link in the upper right corner of the page.
Click the radio button in the new page to indicate whether the badge should be horizontal or vertical.
Click the check boxes to indicate whether you would like the badge to display the name of the group, the status, the picture and how many people "Like" the group. Click the "Save" button.
Click the "Other" button. The words "Copy the code below and paste it on your website" appear. Below these words is a text box containing the raw HTML code for the badge.
Use the mouse pointer to highlight all of the text in the box. Right-click the highlighted text and select "Copy."
Add the copied text to the code for your website, and save the modified page. Visitors to your website will now see the badge and can click the "Like" button to show their support on their Facebook profiles.
