If your little girl enjoys dressing up or stories about princesses, she'll probably enjoy a princess costume party as well. You can plan one for her birthday or host a slumber party and invite guests to dress up. You don't have to settle for a traditional invitation. You can customise the wording to include poetry or add clips from your daughter's favourite fairy tale. To keep with the royal theme, include tiaras, castles, horses and nobles.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Include a royal statement or call, such as "Hear ye! Hear ye!" or "Calling all princesses!" from Birthday Party Resource.

  2. 2

Address the host by her royal title, such as "Princess Amy."

  3. 3

Include a royal invitation, such as "Requests the honour of your attendance at her royal birthday party" or "You are hereby invited to a royal ball" from American Greetings.

  4. 4

Include the date, time and location of the princess costume party, for example:

    Saturday, June 1, 2011

    2:00 in the afternoon

    The Royal Palace

    2 West Castle Drive

    San Diego, CA 91901

  5. 5

Ask guests to wear their costumes to the party, as follows: "All princesses should wear their royal gowns to the ball."

  6. 6

Ask guests to RSVP for the party, using the following (from Invitation Wording):

Your reply is requested by May 25th.
