The Panasonic DMC-TZ3 Won't Turn On

Updated April 17, 2017

The Panasonic DMC-TZ3 is a compact digital camera in Panasonic's Lumix line. It comes with a standard Panasonic rechargeable battery pack, as well as an adaptor to keep the camera charged. Under ideal shooting conditions, a full charge should power the camera through 270 shots. However, users may occasionally find that the camera will not power up, or will power up and immediately shut down again. There are a number of things you can do to try to fix the problem yourself before contacting technical support.

Slide the finger pad on the battery cover from "Lock" to "Open" to release the latch and open the cover.

Push the battery lock lever next to the SD card away from the battery; then gently pull the battery free from the housing.

Insert the battery into the charging station so that the "Lumix" decal is upright on both the charging station and the battery.

Plug the charger into a wall socket. Wait at least two hours to ensure that the battery is fully charged.

Remove the charger from the wall, then the battery from the charger. Reinsert the battery with the "Lumix" decal facing the LCD display side of the camera. Close the battery cover.

Press the shutter button halfway down, then attempt to turn the camera power on. This resets the camera's "Power Save" function if it is enabled.

If the camera still won't power up, contact Panasonic's customer support at 1-800-211-7262.
