Visit the official Converse website. Click on the "Create" tab at the top of the page. Click on the first option, "Chuck Taylor All-Star."
Select the specific sneaker model you would like to customise by clicking on the image from the list provided. You will be directed to a new page, and a blank image of the sneaker you selected will be displayed.
Customise your sneaker by using your mouse to scroll over different portions of the sneaker. There are 14 portions that are colour customisable, including the toe bumper, heel stripe and rubber sidewall. When you click on each portion, the available colours and/or patterns will show up. For each section, select the colour or pattern of your choice. Once you make a selection it will be displayed on the image of the sneaker so you can clearly track your customisations.
Experiment with different colour and pattern combinations until you are satisfied with the look of the sneaker.
Select "Your ID" from the selection box located on the right side of the screen. Select options to customise how and where Your ID message will be displayed on your sneaker. Your ID is a customisable message, that will be located on the low rear or heel stripe of your sneakers, the message can have a maximum of 12 characters, including numbers and letters only.
Select the "Your Size" tab and enter your specific sizing information, select "Done" when completed. Click on "Add to Cart" and then "View Cart" to continue with purchasing the sneaker.
Purchase a pair of plain Converse sneakers, any model or style of your choice.
Remove laces and gather your acrylic paints, bowl of water, paint brush and a pencil. Set these items up on a hard flat surface, which will be your working space.
Carefully draw the design you would like on your Converse sneakers with a pencil.
Begin to paint your design in as carefully as possible, until the decorations are complete. Use the pencil drawing as a guide. In between using different paint colours, clean the paint brush off in water and dry with a paper towel to avoid tainting the colours.
Let the paint dry completely and then put the laces back into the sneakers.
