The Pioneer DEH 305 is a discontinued CD player head-unit car radio receiver. Wiring this unit requires the installer to have a copy of the wiring diagram. The wiring diagram is a legend for what colour wire represents what signal. Once the identity of all the wires has been determined it can then be wired to the car. The Pioneer DEH 305 has four channels -- front left, front right, rear left, rear right.

Determine the function of the different coloured wires. The wire codes for the Pioneer DEH 305 are as follows:

Red: +12V power

Black: - Ground

Pink: + Left Front

Purple: - Left Front

Brown: + Right Front

Dark Brown: - Right Front

Dark Green: + Left Rear

Light Green: - Left Rear

Dark Blue: + Right Rear

Light Blue: - Right Rear

Locate the stereo wiring diagram for the year, make and model of the car. This can be obtained from the manufacturer or may also be in the owner's manual.

Match the wires on the Pioneer DEH 350 to the corresponding wires in the vehicle. For example, match + Left Front with + Left Front. Do this for each wire.

Twist each of the wire pairs together. Tape the connection using electrical tape. The Pioneer DEH 350 has been wired.
