Media stored in the RealPlayer program on your computer is vulnerable to problems such as software errors, computer hard disk crashes and other types of data loss. Backing up your RealPlayer database on a CD-R disc protects your content in the event a software or hardware error occurs. You can then restore the database to RealPlayer when needed.
