If you are going on a vacation with children who have never flown before, they may be a little scared of travelling on a plane. One way to ease this nervousness is to pretend you are on a plane travelling through the air, complete with the boarding and exiting of the plane. To make the pretend play more realistic, you can make novelty airline tickets using a few craft materials.

Cut out a rectangle from coloured cardstock measuring 3-by-5 in. using scissors. You will need one rectangle for each airline ticket you are creating.

Cut out a rectangle from white cardstock measuring 2-by-4 in. using pinking shears, which will make the edges ruffled. You will also need one white rectangle for each airline ticket you are creating.

Glue the white rectangle to the coloured rectangle, centring it in the middle.

Place an aeroplane-related sticker on one corner of the ticket. Airplane-related sticker ideas include an aeroplane or a passport.

Write the pretend airline and flight information on the white part of the ticket using markers. You can include the airline's name, flight time, destination and price.
