How to Replace Audi Cabriolet Rear Speakers

Updated February 21, 2017

The Audi Cabriolet is a convertible version of the Audi 90 sports sedan. The vehicle is equipped with rear speakers mounted in the interior rear-side panels of the car. These speakers are easily accessible with basic tools. Because of the configuration of the Audi's audio system, replacement of the original speakers in this location must be done with factory-replacement-model speakers.

Insert the tip of a panel tool under the edge of the driver-side rear speaker grille. Lever outward, working around the perimeter of the speaker, until the grille comes loose.

Remove four Phillips screws from the edge of the speaker with a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the speaker out of the rear-side panel and unplug the wiring harness connected to the back. Plug the wiring harness into your new speaker and test operation. Place the new speaker into the door and secure with the Phillips screws. Replace the grille and push it firmly on.

Repeat the previous steps to replace the speaker on the passenger-side rear-side panel.

You can purchase a panel tool at most auto parts stores.
