White shoes give your outfit a fresh, bright look. Unfortunately, white shoes have a tendency to become dirty and dingy, quickly. Everyday use of your white shoes -- be it sneakers or high heels -- will leave them discoloured and worn. Instead of tossing discoloured white shoes, there are some things you can try to fix those tired, white shoes.

Pour two to three drops of gentle dish soap in a container. Add one tbsp of bleach and mix with a spoon. Dip an old toothbrush in the mixture, and scrub white shoes vigorously. Dampen a clean cloth in cool water and blot the shoes clean. Place the shoes in a sunny location, and let them dry for several hours.

Dampen a magic cleaning eraser with cool water, and scrub marks and discolouration off white shoes. Continue scrubbing for several seconds, before allowing the shoes to dry.

Fill a small container with warm water. Fill a second small container with baking soda. Dip an old toothbrush in the warm water, until the bristles are saturated. Dip the saturated toothbrush in the baking soda, and begin scrubbing the discolouration off the white shoes. Wipe the baking soda residue off the shoes, using a clean cloth dampened in cool water. Let the shoes air-dry.

Rub white shoe polish onto leather or faux leather white shoes. Be sure to coat the entire shoe. Allow the polish to dry, before wearing them.

WARNING

Refrain from washing your white shoes in the washing machine, as you may damage them. Do not place your shoes in the dryer, as they may shrink. Do not mix bleach with ammonia or products containing ammonia. The resulting fumes are toxic.
