How to Program an Audi Key Fob

Audi is a German car make. The modern key fobs that are used to open and start this car aren't like traditional older keys because they contain computer chips, which adds security to your car. They also function differently than normal keys because they must be programmed to work with the computer system of the car. This can be done in a few steps.

  1. 1

    Insert the key that you do not need to program into the ignition. Turn the key to "On" but do not start the engine.

  2. 2

    Insert the key that you need to program into the driver's side door lock.

  3. 3

    Press the "Unlock" button on the key in the door lock. Unlock is symbolised by an unlocked padlock image. The lights will flash after you do this.

  4. 4

    Press the "Unlock" button on the key in the door lock again.

  5. 5

    Press the "Lock" button on the key in the door lock. This button is symbolised by a locked padlock image.

  6. 6

    Remove the both keys from their locations.

  7. 7

    Test the newly programmed key in the ignition. It will start the car if the programming has been done correctly.
