Sony Bravias are designed to give users access to multimedia content from computers and digital devices through a multi-brand technology partnership called the Digital Living Network Alliance. Any DLNA device can be connected to the Sony Bravia television to play different types of digital media, like MP3s. Some devices that have the DLNA technology include the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360, as well as Blu-ray players.

Instructions

  1. 1

Turn on the Sony Bravia television and the DLNA-certified device (also sometimes referred to as a media server). When the device is connected to the Sony Bravia, whether through wired or wireless connection, the two devices will automatically detect one another. For portable MP3 players, you can use a standard USB connect from the player to your network router to achieve the same detection by the Sony Bravia. (See Resources for Bravia link to full configuration options.)

  2. 2

Press the "Home" button on the Bravia television or the Bravia television remote to go to the Media Settings Screen.

  3. 3

Select the "Music" category on the Media Settings Screen. You will find the DLNA-certified device listed on this screen where you can select from a specific file or folder of MP3(s).

  4. 4

Select the MP3 file will wish to play on the Bravia, then press "Enter." on the television or the television's remote.
