Plug the VGA cable into the VGA output on the side of the Compaq Mini. Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the VGA input on the rear of your television. Secure the connection using the screws attached to the VGA cable.
Plug the 1/8-inch audio cable into the headphone jack on the Compaq Mini. Plug the other end into the 1/8-inch audio input on the rear of the television, beside the VGA port.
Turn on the television, then press the "Input" button on either the remote or the television itself and select the "VGA" input.
On the Compaq, open the "Start" menu and select "Control Panel." Click "Appearance and Themes" from the Control Panel, then click "Display."
Click the tab labelled "Settings," then click on the second monitor. Place a check mark beside "Extend My Windows Desktop Onto This Monitor."
Click "Apply," then click "OK" to close the window.
