How to delete time-warner cable movies that are in progress on demand

Updated February 21, 2017

Most cable companies now give you the option of recording television content directly onto the receiver's built-in DVR (digital video recorder). This holds true with the Time-Warner cable company. If, however, you decide you don't want to keep the programming, or if you want to watch a different program and the current recording is preventing you from doing so, it is possible to delete the recording that is in progress.

Press the "Guide" button on the Time-Warner cable receiver's remote control. This brings up a list of all the stations and current programs.

Push the up and down directional arrow buttons until you locate the show currently being recorded (there is a red dot on the program listing).

Highlight the show, then press the "Stop" button. A prompt appears, asking if you are sure you want to stop the recording process. Select "Yes" and the recording in progress is stopped and deleted from the receiver's hard drive.
