How to Connect a VCR to a Humax Freeview Set-Top Box

Updated April 17, 2017

The Humax Freeview set-top box allows you to record TV with its pre-installed digital memory. You won't have to buy any tapes, CDs or other recording materials for recording your TV programs. The Humax set-top box uses RF connections, so it can be connected to a VCR with coaxial cables. This enables you to have your set-top box and VCR connected to your TV at the same time.

Plug the antenna source into the threaded RF (Radio Frequency) port labelled "Aerial Input" on the Humax Freeview set-top box.

Plug one side of a coaxial cable into the threaded RF port labelled "TV/VCR" on the back of the set-top box. Plug the other end of the coaxial cable into the threaded RF port labelled "Antenna In" on the back of the VCR.

Connect the other coaxial cable to the threaded RF port labelled "Antenna Out" on the back of the VCR. Connect the other side of the coaxial cable to the threaded RF port labelled "Antenna In" on the back of the TV. Plug the power cords of the TV, VCR and set-top box into electrical sockets.
