Updated February 21, 2017

The Aspire 5040 is a laptop model manufactured by Acer. This notebook has a 15.4-inch screen and comes with the AMD Turion processor and 1 GB of memory. The laptop also has a built-in wireless adaptor that permits you to connect to the Internet. Use a front panel switch on your Aspire 5040 laptop to turn the wireless adaptor on and off.

Find the wireless communication button on the front panel of the Acer Aspire 5040 laptop. This is a long, thin button located next to the microphone (Line-in) jack.

Check the green light indicator on the wireless button; if the light is off then the wireless adaptor is disabled.
