The Windows XP serial key is used to license a particular copy of the Windows XP operating system. The serial key is displayed on the Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) attached to the computer itself for OEM versions or is located on the Windows XP CD holder for retail versions. Microsoft doesn't provide a utility to display the entire serial key from an installed operating system. If the Certificate of Authenticity or the Windows XP CD holder is not available, a third-party utility called The Magic Jelly Bean Key Finder will be needed to display the Windows XP serial key.
