Check the faucet for threads. If it has threads, such as an outdoor faucet, twist the end of the garden hose clockwise onto the faucet. Tighten the hose as much as possible by hand.
Attach a "faucet-to-garden-hose" adaptor to your kitchen or bathroom faucet. The adaptor has different-sized threaded ends. Remove any filter screen from the indoor faucet by turning the screen housing counterclockwise. Insert the small end of the adaptor into the faucet. Turn it clockwise to tighten it.
Attach the garden hose to the end of the adaptor protruding from the faucet. Tighten the hose by turning it clockwise by hand.
Tips and warnings
- Check the garden hose faucet adaptor for leaks by opening the faucet and allowing water to run.
- Check the adaptor if the water flow from the garden hose slows. Most adaptors include a screen that can become clogged and slow the flow of water through the adaptor and into the hose.
