How to Charge the Battery of a Sony Cybershot Camera

Updated February 21, 2017

The battery that comes with your Sony Cyber-shot digital camera is a lithium ion unit. This means that when the energy stored up in the battery depletes to the point where you can no longer operate your camera, you can simply recharge the battery to full capacity and use it all over again. In addition to coming with the battery itself, your Sony Cyber-shot also came with the unit necessary to recharge the lithium ion battery.

Insert the battery charger that came with your camera into a wall outlet.

Remove the lithium ion battery from the bottom of your Sony Cyber-shot camera.

Slide the battery into the battery charger. An indicator light will appear on the front of the charger. The light will be red, indicating that the battery is not charged.

Leave the battery in the charger until the light turns green, which indicates a full charge. Remove the battery from the charger and place it back inside your camera. Unplug the charger until you need it again.
