Pinnacle Studio 11 is a Windows-based video-editing program that is used to directly capture video from a connected video camera. Often times using a video editing program is the only way to upload video onto a computer (when using a camera that recorded onto a tape), so if Pinnacle Studio 11 is not capturing the video you must troubleshoot the problem to determine what exactly is going on.

Check the cable connection running from the video camera to the computer. Make sure either the USB or FireWire cable is inserted completely into both the video camera and the computer's connection port.
Power on the video camera and set it to "View" mode. If the video camera is still in record mode Pinnacle Studio 11 is unable to capture the video content.
Rewind the video camera's tape (if you are using a tape). If you have not yet done so Pinnacle Studio 11 is going to tell you there is no capture video on the camera.
Power on the video camera after you have launched Pinnacle Studio 11 and accessed the "Capture" feature. If you don't, the software may not detect the connected video camera.
Select the correct video camera when in "Capture" mode. The program detects all connected equipment, including your webcam or still cameras that are connected. Ensure that you have the proper video connected, otherwise the video content does not upload onto the computer system.
