The Dell Latitude D610 is a 14-inch screen version of the Dell series of laptops that also includes the D410 and D810. The BIOS password is a protection measure used to prevent anyone from starting up the computer system or making changes to the computer's most sensitive areas. The way to bypass a Dell Latitude D610 system password is the same for all Dell Latitude models. Disconnecting or removing the internal battery is the way to do it.

Instructions

    Power off the D610 laptop computer and close it. Unplug any power cables and USB connections.

    Turn the D610 over and remove the battery cover by unscrewing the screws that secure it with a small screwdriver.

  3. 3

    Disconnect and remove the CMOS battery from the computer. Note how it's secured in the computer. Leave it disconnected for 10 minutes.

    Reinstall the battery, reattach the battery cover and power up the Dell D610.

  5. 5

    Press the "F1" function key if the computer does not automatically boot to the desktop.

Tips and warnings

  • Discharge static electricity by holding the frame of the computer with one hand while touching some part of the chassis before attempting any removal of internal components.
