Things you need
- Replacement line for your Weedwacker® model
Remove the battery from the Weedwacker®. Alternately, unplug an electric model before restringing the line.
Place the tool upside down so that you can easily access the spinning base.
Push down the two clips that are on either side of the Weedwacker®. This will release the cap and spring from the spool. Set them aside until your task is complete.
Remove the empty spool by popping it out.
Place the end of the new trimmer line into the anchoring slot of the spool.
Follow the directional arrows on the spool to wrap the trimmer line around the spool. Be careful not to cross the lines when wrapping. Doing so may cause it not to function properly.
Cut the trimmer line with a pair of scissors or a sharp knife when the spool is nearly full. You do not want the line to extend beyond the edges of the spool.
Thread the end of the trimmer line into the eyelet slot on the cap. Replace the cap onto the Weedwacker®. Snap the cap into place.
