Included in Microsoft's Office suite of productivity products, Excel is a widely used spreadsheet applications. It lets users create and edit rows and columns of tabular data, perform calculations on that data and develop charts and graphs. With the release of Excel 2007, Excel began saving spreadsheets in the program's native XLSX format by default. If you want to convert an XLSX file to the plain-text Comma-Separated Values format, use Excel version 2007 or later, OpenOffice.org Calc version 3 or later or the web-based Zamzar conversion utility.
