How to Adjust the Brightness in Media Player Classic

Media Player Classic is a freeware audio and video player for Windows computers. The software has the same graphical user interface of the old Microsoft Windows Media Player 6.4, but includes many more features. Using the program's MPEG decoder, users can adjust the video's brightness.

    Click the "Start" menu button and select "All Programs," then click "Accessories." Click on the "Media Player Classic" menu item to run the program.

    Click the "File" menu at the top of the screen and select "Open." Find a video file on the hard drive and open it.

    Select "View" from the menu bar at the top of the program screen. Click "Options" and then select "Filters."

    Click on "MPEG Decoder" and use the brightness controls to begin adjusting the brightness. Click "OK" when finished.

    Play the video to view the changes. Remember to save the video file or the changes will be lost.
