Product keys are used to protect retail software from being freely distributed. These special codes vary in length and are specific to the version of the product you are trying to install. The XP Pro version of Microsoft Office includes the product key in a variety of locations depending on how the product was purchased. If you don't have a valid product key, check websites that provide free product keys.
