AVG is an antivirus software program available for PCs. One of its components is a built-in firewall that limits the number of incoming port connections. This limits what kinds of websites and other computers can interact with your computer. While this safely protects you from computers trying to gain unauthorised access to your computer and blocks incoming files that may be damaging (such as malware), it can interfere with normal connections. A firewall may, for example, block the same ports that another legitimate program or website uses to send and receive data. Disabling the firewall in AVG opens all ports and corrects any blockage problems.
