Ambient light sensors, which are used in various electronic devices, measure the amount and brightness of light within a given environment and adjust certain settings or functions accordingly based on the reading the sensor returns. Ambient light sensors, like those included with some Asus laptop computers, are typically utilised as energy saving devices, as they allow the computer to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen according to the available light. Brighter screens take up more battery power, so ambient light sensors may significantly improve the length of a battery charge. If you want your screen's brightness to remain constant, you may disable the sensor.
