How to Access a Factory-Hidden Partition on a Toshiba Laptop

Updated February 21, 2017

Toshiba laptop computers contain a "hidden partition" on the main hard drive that is to be used for recovery and restore purposes. Because this partition is not to be used for storing regular files, it is typically hidden by default. If you want to access this hidden partition on your Toshiba brand laptop computer, you'll have to enable the display of hidden drives in Windows Explorer's "Options" settings.

Click "Start."

Click "Computer."

Click "Tools."

Click "Folder Options."

Click the "View" tab. Click "Show Hidden Drives" and click "Apply." Your Toshiba hidden factory partition will now display in the "Computer" window on screen.
