How to Check the Oil on a Mantis Four Stroke Tiller

Updated April 17, 2017

It is easy to check and maintain the correct oil level in the Mantis Four Stroke Tiller. Proper oil level is paramount to the life and proper operation of your tiller. Use 10W-30 weight oil and check the level of oil in the tank before each operation. A maximum amount of 96.4gr is optimal; there are markings on the tank to indicate when you have reached this measurement.

Position the tiller forward so it is supported by the gas tank and turned off.

Take the grey plug off of the oil sump reservoir.

Fill this tank with 10W-30 oil. Allow the oil to come level with the inside first thread of the plug.

Screw the plug cap back onto the oil tank. A snug fit will ensure there is no leakage.

Warning

Do not use starting fluid as it may damage the tiller engine permanently.
