If the operating system cannot locate the drivers, you can install them manually by inserting the disk that was included with the printer and following the on-screen instructions, or by downloading and install the drivers manually.

  1. 1

Visit the Dell All-In-One Printer product page (see References) and download the printer drivers. Save the drivers to an easy-to-access location, such as the desktop.

  2. 2

Double-click on the file "R117711.exe," which will be located in the location to which the drivers were downloaded. When the file is clicked, the drivers will be automatically extracted. Close the extractor once the extraction is complete.

  3. 3

Open the Start menu and click "Run." Type "C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R117711" into the text box and click "OK." Windows Vista and 7 users can type the path directly into the text box located on the Start menu.

  4. 4

Follow the on-screen instructions in the installation screen to complete the installation of the printer.
