Place a 12-inch long foam block on a rectangular tray of the same size. Tape the block in place using doubles side masking tape. This will keep the block from flipping over once decorated. Hide the masking tape by placing it between the block and the tray.
Cut 10 sections from 20-gauge wire. Make the sections vary in length. These wires will act as holders for playing cards. Having a variety of sizes will give the centrepiece a fuller look.
Grasp the end of one of the wires with needle-nose pliers. Twist with your pliers, one end of the wire to make a circular swirl shape. Poke the straight end into the foam block. Repeat this step until all 10 pieces have swirled ends.
Poke the wire pieces in the foam block. Clip the pointy ends to adjust the wires height if you need to.
Add playing cards to the circular ends. Choose face cards like queens, jacks and kings. Place cards back to back so guests can see the face cards while looking at either side of the centrepiece.
Cover the base of the foam block with multicoloured poker chips. Add some poker die to the base for more flair. If you like, add red tinsel shred to the base of the arrangement instead. Then place the chips on top. Place your centrepiece on your food table.
Cut white standard sized poster boards in half to look like playing cards. Draw hearts in the upper left and lower right corner of your poster.
Print large pictures of your guests using copy paper.
Tape the pictures in the centre of the poster board cards you made.
Hang the poster cards on walls using pushpins.
