A file required by the Internet Explorer Web browser and by programs that utilise Internet Explorer, the ieframe.dll file may become corrupted or outdated by other programs. Also, the file is dependent on other system files, such as the dwmapi.dll file. Changing ieframe.dll is desirable if you have been experiencing program or Internet Explorer crashes or if your computer has been displaying error messages related to the ieframe.dll file.

Download and install any hotfixes, cumulative security updates for Internet Explorer and any other critical updates for your operating system by clicking on "Start," "All Programs" and "Windows Update." Restart your computer when prompted. This will update ieframe.dll to the latest version.
Upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer via Windows Update or by visiting the Internet Explorer website to change your version of ieframe.dll (see Resources).
Reset your version of Internet Explorer by opening the browser, clicking on "Tools" in the menu bar, then selecting "Internet Options." Click on the "Advanced" tab, then click on "Reset." Verify that you wish to reset the browser by clicking on "Reset" in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings box to attempt to revert to an earlier version of the ieframe.dll file.
Download and reinstall the current version of Internet Explorer to change the ieframe.dll file back to the version originally installed with the browser.
